Every engagement starts with the problem and its constraints: schedule, budget, regulatory path and the team you already have. The engagement model follows from those.

Ways to engage

Three models, chosen to fit the program

Augment your team

You have a team and a process, and need more senior capacity. We work in your tools, PDM and QMS, join your stand-ups and design reviews, and hand over cleanly.

Best for
Peaks in workload, a missing senior role, or a team ramping up
Typical terms
Time and materials, set hours per week

Own a scope

A piece of the program can be defined and handed off: a subsystem, a test campaign, an analysis package. We propose, deliver and report against an agreed scope.

Well-bounded work your team doesn’t have time or tools for
Typical terms
Fixed price, or time and materials with a cap

Assemble a team

A phase needs several disciplines at once and you would rather not contract each one. Mycel scopes the work, brings in the specialists and runs it as one program.

Best for
Early-stage companies, or a phase outside your team’s expertise
Typical terms
Phased proposal under one master agreement

From first call to handover

What working together looks like

  1. Intro call

    Thirty minutes on the program, the problem and the timing. We sign a mutual NDA first if you need one.

  2. Proposal

    Scope, approach, schedule and pricing, as time and materials or fixed price.

  3. Delivery

    Regular check-ins, work in your systems or ours, and documentation written as we go.

  4. Handover

    Files, reports and design history records transferred, with time set aside for questions after.

Commercial terms

The practical details

Insurance
Professional liability (E&O), commercial general liability and cyber coverage.
Agreements
Master services agreement and mutual NDA ready to go, or we’ll review yours.
Quality systems
We work inside your quality management system and follow your procedures, so our deliverables go straight into your design history file. ISO 13485-certified quality systems are core for us: we bring decades of development inside them, and the specialists we work with are well established in them too.
Pricing
Time and materials or fixed price, agreed in the proposal.
Location
Based in Victoria, BC. Remote across Canada and the US, with on-site visits when the program needs them.
Tools
We work in your CAD, PDM and QMS when that suits you, and bring our own analysis tools.
