Nathan Muller
Nathan founded Mycel Design in 2026 after nearly 12 years developing medical devices at one of Canada’s largest product development firms, all of it inside ISO 13485-certified quality systems. He worked across the full development cycle as a mechanical designer and as a system design lead on complex medtech hardware.
For five of those years he focused on computational modelling and simulation, and for part of that time he ran the firm’s simulation group, covering business development, strategy and technical oversight. That background is why analysis sits inside Mycel’s design work rather than being sent out.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering and is a named inventor on patents spanning ingestible drug delivery, breath gas analysis, dental robotics, catheter sterilization and thermoacoustic imaging. He works from Victoria, British Columbia, with clients across Canada and the United States.
The name
Why Mycel
Mycelium is the root network under a forest. It links trees together and moves water and nutrients to wherever they are needed.
Mycel works the same way. A senior core connects to specialists across the disciplines a device needs, and brings each one in at the point the program calls for it.
